OVERVIEW This permanent full-time role at North Metropolitan TAFE in Perth offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to succeed in education and training. As a Senior Accessibility and Learning Support Officer (Auslan Interpreter), you will work across multiple campuses in a large, multi-campus institution. The position combines direct student support with coordination, administration, and collaboration in a genuinely inclusive, student-centred environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support students who are Deaf or hard of hearing to fully participate in education and training – Coordinate Auslan interpreting services across North Metropolitan TAFE – Coordinate tutorial support services for eligible students – Manage the day-to-day administration of the Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS) program – Work closely with lecturers to support student accessibility and learning needs – Liaise with Connect providers to ensure appropriate support services are in place – Collaborate with the Apprentice Management Team to ensure apprentices receive timely academic and accessibility support – Engage directly with students while balancing coordination and administrative responsibilities – Work across more than one campus as required REQUIREMENTS – Valid Australian work rights at the time of application – Australian citizenship or permanent residency for permanent appointment – Ability to work across multiple campuses within a multi-campus institution WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Access to education depends on effective, well-coordinated support for students with disabilities.
