OVERVIEW The Education Partnerships and Engagement Officer role at Western Sydney University supports student progression through high-quality professional experience placements and strong external partnerships. Based at the Bankstown Campus, this full-time, fixed-term position works within the Faculty of SABEL to coordinate placement activities that meet academic, regulatory, and sector expectations. The role combines administrative coordination, stakeholder engagement, and student-facing support to ensure placements are delivered accurately and on time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate student progression and professional experience placements across the Faculty of SABEL. – Provide administrative and stakeholder support to academic leaders, professional staff, and external partners. – Support the organisation and delivery of placement and engagement activities. – Maintain accurate placement records and effective working relationships with stakeholders. – Manage placement documentation, systems, contracts, and reporting. – Ensure compliance with University policies, accreditation standards, and external requirements. – Monitor data integrity and prepare placement-related reports. – Respond to changes in placement regulations and sector expectations. – Travel between campuses as required to support placement and engagement activities. – Provide clear advice and case management support to students regarding placements. – Contribute to engagement and mobility activities, including outbound tours. – Assist with continuous improvement of placement processes to optimise service delivery and operational efficiency. – Resolve placement enquiries and issues efficiently using sound judgement. REQUIREMENTS – Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in industry liaison, preferably within an education setting. – Demonstrated experience managing relational databases, systems, and data reporting. – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgement and initiative. – High-level oral and written communication skills with a client-focused approach. – Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and act with discretion. – Evidence of full-time working rights in Australia.
