OVERVIEW Edith Cowan University (ECU) is seeking a Future Student Advisor for a full-time, fixed-term 18-month position based across the Kurongkurl Katitjin City and Joondalup campuses in Perth, Western Australia. The role sits within the Student Journey Team and focuses on supporting prospective students as they explore pathways into higher education. This opportunity is centered on engagement, relationship-building, and student guidance, with a strong emphasis on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver student recruitment activities and engagement initiatives that support prospective students throughout their journey to university – Build meaningful connections with prospective students, schools, communities, and stakeholders – Provide personalised information and guidance to help students make informed study decisions and explore future pathways – Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to achieve their aspirations through strengthened connections and pathways into higher education – Contribute to the work of Kurongkurl Katitjin’s Student Journey Team REQUIREMENTS – Passion for engaging with prospective students and supporting their journey towards higher education – Strong communication skills – Community-focused approach – Ability to build trusted relationships with students, schools, and key stakeholders – Relevant working rights to work in Australia – Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) – Submission of an up-to-date resume summarising experience and achievements – Submission of a covering letter of no more than two pages outlining suitability for the role WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Future Student Advisors play an important role in helping students access higher education opportunities and make informed decisions about their futures.
