OVERVIEW Catholic Education Cairns is seeking a Boarding Supervisor for St Augustine’s Catholic College in Cairns. This casual role supports boarding students across residential, study, sport, meal, and recreational activities within a catholic education environment focused on student wellbeing and community values. The college has a long history in boys education and is part of the Marist school network in Australia. The position involves direct supervision, practical assistance, and support for students participating in boarding and school life. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Supervise students in residences, during study sessions, at meals, on outings, at camps, and during sport activities – Offer tutorial assistance to students – Transport students to and from sport and other activities – Take students to special interest activities – Undertake tasks within the boarding program including driving duties – Provide clerical assistance as required – Assist with distribution of sports gear – Support organisation of student laundry – Maintain responsibility for security tasks – Complete other duties as directed by the Principal or Director of Boarding REQUIREMENTS – Hold a Working with Children Blue Card – Hold current first aid qualifications including CPR – Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education – Be committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Boarding environments rely on consistent supervision, care, and practical assistance to help students feel safe, supported, and connected. This role contributes to the daily experience of boarding students by providing guidance, structure, and access to educational and extracurricular activities within a catholic education community.
