Role Overview The Student Life Manager oversees all aspects of student services at the CIEE Sydney , with a two-fold focus: Housing Management – Full lifecycle management of student housing before, during, and after programs. Program Delivery – Oversight of student life components for Direct Enrollment and custom programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and enriching experiences. This role recruits, onboards and supervises Program Assistants, Resident Assistants, and other staff engaged in student services. Key Responsibilities 1. Housing Management Identify, assess, and secure housing providers that meet CIEE standards for quality, health, safety, security, and budget compliance. Procure and secure housing in alignment with program budgets, ensuring providers meet financial and operational standards. Oversee housing allocations in Salesforce, ensuring all students are assigned appropriate accommodations prior to arrival. Ensure pre-arrival communications and housing information are delivered in a timely manner. Manage subletting opportunities, providing housing providers with sufficient notice prior to subletting periods to ensure timely turnover. Supervise staff responsible for housing, including Resident Assistants and Program Assistants. Manage housing operations during programs, including conflict resolution, maintenance oversight, cleaning supervision, and HSS incident management. Monitor housing expenses closely—including cleaning, maintenance, and other related costs—to ensure operations remain within budget. Lead student check-in and check-out processes, ensuring issues are documented, damages are processed, and maintenance is completed. Conduct and analyse housing evaluations, implementing improvements as needed to ensure student satisfaction. 2. Student Life & Program Delivery Design and deliver cultural, social, and co-curricular activities that foster engagement, integration, and learning. Develop proposals, budgets, and itineraries for custom programs, working collaboratively with partner universities and CIEE’s Custom Programs team. Oversee the execution of custom programs from start to finish, including bookings, faculty support, logistics, and on-site delivery. Support direct enrolment programs, ensuring programming is comprehensive, within budget, and positively evaluated by students. Coordinate orientations, study tours, interest groups, extracurriculars, and farewell activities. 3. Student Support & HSS Provide personal support and conflict resolution for students, escalating cases as needed. Ensure compliance with CIEE health, safety, and security protocols, and respond to medical emergencies effectively. Train and supervise staff and student leaders on HSS responsibilities and escalation procedures. Ensure that HSS checklist is completed for all housing types before the students check in. 4.
