OVERVIEW TAFE Gippsland is seeking a Specialist Advisor Target Qualifications – Teaching and Learning for a full-time ongoing role based at the Sale Campus, with travel required across the Gippsland region. This position focuses on improving engagement, progression, and completion outcomes for learners experiencing intersectional disadvantage through inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment practices. The role works closely with Education Delivery teams to redesign curriculum and strengthen educator capability using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the design, development, and implementation of inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment practices – Improve learner engagement, progression, and completion within Target Qualifications – Work in partnership with Education Delivery teams to redesign curriculum, delivery approaches, and assessment practices – Support diverse learner needs through inclusive educational strategies – Strengthen educator capability in contemporary teaching practices – Integrate evidence-based teaching strategies into learning design and delivery – Ensure qualifications are designed to support learner success from commencement through to completion – Provide specialist advice in teaching practice – Collaborate with community-based support services within the Gippsland region – Lead complex initiatives, projects, or organisational improvement activities focused on learner outcomes – Interpret data, identify trends, and develop practical responses to emerging learner needs – Collaborate and influence across diverse stakeholder groups REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor Degree or higher in Education – Extensive senior-level experience in curriculum design, inclusive education, learner success, educational leadership, or a related field – More than five years of experience in the Secondary School and/or Vocational Education and Training sector – Experience directly working in roles providing specialist advice in teaching practice – Experience collaborating with community-based support services within the Gippsland region – Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives, projects, or organisational improvement activities that improve learner participation, progression, and completion outcomes – Strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed approaches – Proven experience supporting learners facing intersectional disadvantage – Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills – Ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgement in complex environments – Current Driver’s Licence – Valid Working with Children Clearance – Current satisfactory National Police Check less than 12 months old WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes directly to improving educational access and success for learners who may face significant barriers to participation and completion.
