OVERVIEW The Homestay Recruitment and Placement Coordinator role at EF Education First in Sydney focuses on building and maintaining strong homestay accommodation options for international students. Based at the Chippendale campus, this position combines host family recruitment with student placement coordination in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. It is well suited to professionals who enjoy high-volume communication, structured processes, and contributing directly to the student experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Follow up on warm inbound enquiries from prospective host families – Communicate with potential host families via phone and email to build rapport and trust – Guide host families through the onboarding process and convert enquiries into active placements – Clearly answer questions and set expectations with host families from the outset – Match international students to suitable accommodation based on availability and preferences – Manage multiple student placements at the same time, often within tight timelines – Handle accommodation-related queries from students, including in-person walk-ins – Maintain accurate accommodation records and documentation – Support home visits and ensure compliance with EF standards and local requirements – Track recruitment activity, follow-ups, and placement outcomes with the Accommodation team – Work closely with Student Services and other internal departments – Participate in the school’s emergency on-call rotation REQUIREMENTS – Full professional fluency in English – Valid work rights in Australia – Confidence and comfort speaking on the phone and building rapport quickly – Experience in customer service, coordination, or inbound sales or lead conversion roles – Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage ongoing enquiries – High level of organization with the ability to juggle multiple priorities – Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure – Positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach – Interest in working in an international and multicultural environment – Experience in student services, hospitality, reservations, or call-centre environments (advantage) – Valid driving licence (advantage but not essential) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Homestay accommodation plays a critical role in shaping the overall experience of international students, influencing their wellbeing, cultural integration, and satisfaction.
