OVERVIEW The Wellbeing Engagement Facilitator at Rowville Secondary College plays a key role in supporting student wellbeing, engagement, and agency across the school’s East and West campuses. Working as part of the Wellbeing Team and reporting to the Wellbeing Team Leader, the role focuses on early intervention, prevention, and coordinated support for students at risk of disengagement. This is a four-days-per-week position, primarily based at the East Campus in Rowville, Melbourne. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide direct individual support and early intervention services for students and groups identified as at risk of disengagement – Coordinate internal and external supports for students with critical needs, including working with community support providers and health professionals – Maintain quality case notes and complete timely reporting in line with school and Department of Education policies and procedures – Work closely with student leadership groups to investigate and address issues affecting students – Organise, facilitate, and evaluate peer leadership and mentoring programs – Advocate and consult with staff, families, and community members to create inclusive environments for students at risk of disengagement – Analyse school attendance and wellbeing data to inform targeted interventions – Provide individual early intervention support for students with social concerns and emerging mental health needs – Participate in Student Support Group (SSG) and care team meetings – Organise and facilitate school events that promote positive mental health, including Wear It Purple Day, school camps, and student-led celebration days – Implement and evaluate Tier 2 small group wellbeing initiatives based on identified social and wellbeing needs – Participate in Building Respectful Relationships (BRR) and Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) meetings – Support the planning, resourcing, and implementation of Tier 1 and Tier 2 wellbeing programs across the school – Engage external organisations and professionals to support and facilitate student wellbeing programs – Attend Outer East Network or other school network meetings and report key information back to the core wellbeing team REQUIREMENTS – Degree in social sciences – Current Working with Children’s Card – Satisfactory police criminal check – At least two years of demonstrated relevant experience WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student wellbeing and engagement are critical foundations for learning, participation, and long-term success.
