OVERVIEW The Manager, Student Success at Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a senior leadership role within the Student Life Directorate, based primarily across the Joondalup and City campuses, with responsibilities extending to the South West campus. Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Retention & Success, this position leads strategic, university-wide and cohort-specific initiatives that support students to succeed in their higher education journey. The role combines people leadership, program innovation, and data-informed decision making within a complex, collaborative university environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead university-wide and cohort-specific initiatives that support student success in higher education. – Provide leadership to a specialist team within the Student Life Directorate. – Work in close partnership with Schools, Directorates, and Service Centres to achieve shared objectives. – Deliver proactive intervention and case management approaches for diverse student cohorts, including international students. – Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and policy requirements. – Design, implement, and continuously improve evidence-based student success programs aligned with best practice and ECU’s strategic priorities. – Use data and insights to inform decision making and improve student outcomes. – Contribute to a person-centred approach and continuous quality improvement across student services. REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated leadership experience managing people, resources, and budgets within a complex environment. – Proven capability to design, implement, and evaluate innovative, evidence-based student success programs in a higher education context. – Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical initiatives. – Experience collaborating effectively with academic and professional stakeholders. – Highly developed communication skills, including presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences. – A flexible and creative mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and measurable results. – Relevant working rights to work in Australia.
