OVERVIEW The Student Recruitment Officer at La Trobe University’s Bendigo Campus is a full-time, continuing role focused on guiding prospective domestic students into higher education pathways. Positioned within the Future Students team, this role supports secondary school and mature-aged learners across the Bendigo region through personalised advice, outreach, and event-based engagement. The position operates at Higher Education Officer Level 5 (HEO5) and contributes directly to achieving undergraduate recruitment and load targets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support prospective students through one-on-one consultations across the entire university application journey. – Assist students with the application process for courses and alternative entry schemes. – Build and maintain relationships with secondary schools and community organisations in the region. – Assist in the planning and delivery of university-run events and presentations. – Represent La Trobe University at external events, major expos, and community activities. REQUIREMENTS – An undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience, with an emphasis on high levels of customer service. – High level verbal communication skills, including effective public speaking and the ability to develop and frequently deliver presentations to a range of audiences. – Excellent written communication skills. – High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with senior academic staff, secondary school representatives, members of the public, and secondary students.
