OVERVIEW The Manager, Study Abroad & Partnerships at Southern Cross University is a newly created leadership role focused on advancing the University’s international growth strategy through partnerships and global mobility. Sitting within Southern Cross Global, this position blends international student recruitment, study abroad, transnational education, and partnership development. The role is based in regional Australia and contributes to strengthening the University’s global profile while delivering meaningful outcomes for students and partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Driving international student recruitment growth through partnership and global mobility channels – Developing and managing strategic relationships with offshore partners, pathway providers, and government stakeholders – Identifying and progressing new business development opportunities aligned with University priorities – Leading partner channel recruitment plans and supporting transnational education and study abroad initiatives – Representing Southern Cross University at international events, partnership meetings, and global engagement activities REQUIREMENTS – A relevant degree and five years of subsequent experience in international student recruitment and business development, or equivalent – Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder and partner relationships across diverse cultural contexts – Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills – Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives or projects to achieve business outcomes – Knowledge of the international education sector and Australian regulatory requirements relating to international students – Experience building partnerships within the higher education sector (desirable but not essential) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International partnerships and mobility programs are central to how universities expand global engagement, diversify student cohorts, and create opportunities for intercultural learning.
