OVERVIEW The Education Counsellor role with IDP Education in Brisbane focuses on guiding international students through their study journey in Australia. Working within a global leader in international education services, this position combines customer service, sales achievement, and expert knowledge of education pathways. The role supports students from initial enquiry through to enrolment, while also contributing to IDP’s customer-first, technology-enabled approach. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Drive achievement of pipeline goals, customer satisfaction, and advocacy targets across each stage of the student journey – Promote student essential products and services – Manage and maintain leads and successful student applications – Seek referral opportunities and encourage participation in events and lead-generating activities – Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases – Provide outstanding customer service to students, their families, and education providers – Participate in planning activities to build student engagement – Provide clear information on admissions, processes, and qualification options in an easy-to-understand way – Proactively engage with students and education providers on a regular basis – Guide international students to institutions that meet their learning and career aspirations – Provide advice on study opportunities, the local education system, culture, and geographic region – Assist with application documentation and facilitate enrolments – Promote IDP products and services REQUIREMENTS – Experience in a sales or customer service driven environment, including achieving individual and team-based targets – Good understanding of the education sector and placement of students into VET and universities – Knowledge of immigration requirements and processes – Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or prior experience working as an Education Counsellor or similar role – Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills – Fluency in English, both verbal and written – Proficiency in Hindi, Punjabi, or another second language (desirable) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Education Counsellors play a critical role in helping international students make informed decisions that shape their academic and professional futures.
