OVERVIEW This Manager, Training role at Spinifex State College – Mount Isa Residential Campus focuses on leading high-quality training and staff development within a boarding school environment. Based in Queensland and operating within the Department of Education, the role supports students from remote communities by strengthening the capability of boarding staff who work directly with them. It is a hands-on leadership position that combines training design, coaching, and operational support within a 24/7 residential setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Design and deliver comprehensive induction programs and targeted training aligned with the Boarding Way framework and mandatory policies. – Provide advanced training and coaching to Senior Student Support Workers (SSSWs) and Student Support Workers (SSWs). – Support SSSWs and SSWs to identify strengths and development areas and assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of personalised professional development plans. – Provide guidance and support to SSSWs and SSWs in monitoring overall student behaviour. – Enable early identification of students experiencing difficulties and support the organisation of timely interventions before issues escalate. – Provide guidance and support to SSSWs and SSWs to lead the development and management of a safe and secure residential environment. – Develop and implement initiatives that encourage a positive and supportive residential environment for secondary students living on campus. REQUIREMENTS – Essential experience working in a boarding environment. – Availability to work shift work on a rotating 24/7 roster. – Availability to work shifts during school terms.
