Continuing, Full Time Appointment Professional Employee Level 7 Annual salary $96,559 – $105,992 pa + 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave Casuarina Campus | Larrakia Country About the Position As the International Student Support Adviser your primary role will be to provide advice especially designed for international students to help their adjustment to study and living in Australia. You will develop and implement pro-active, evidence-based strategies to ensure that international students increase their understanding of student success, and compliance related matters as specified in their visa conditions, national legislation and University policies and procedures. You will use your knowledge to influence the adoption of best practice in relation to international students across the university. This is a student and staff focused role, also responsible for delivery of efficient customer service and timely case management of international student issues in consultation with relevant University staff, including Student Administration, Faculties, CDU TAFE and other services, internal and external to CDU, as necessary. You will have an understanding of the university’s welfare obligations to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation governing the delivery of international student services under the ESOS Act, National Code, Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) and University policies. The International Student Support Advisor collaborates closely with the Student Success team especially encouraging connection and participation in student events About You To be successful, you will require: A degree with relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training in international education or a student welfare setting; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience. Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate a range of programs and services to promote the needs of students Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in order to successfully deliver high quality outcomes. Demonstrated cultural awareness and an ability to effectively relate professionally to students/clients from an international background, preferably in an Australian setting. Proven ability to provide strong customer service orientation, for both internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated high level organisational ability, including the ability to respond to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks, and initiative that exhibits attention to detail, work planning to meet deadlines, think analytically, problem solve and the ability to prioritise competing demands in a dynamic team environment. Demonstrated high level of computer competency with sound data maintenance and interrogation skills in Calista or a similar student database system. Commitment to the University’s values. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of legislation impacting international students Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance Remuneration Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 7. The base salary will be in the range of $96,559 – $105,992 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $112,974 – $124,010 per annum, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
