OVERVIEW The Senior Student Success Officer role at The University of Queensland sits within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and focuses on enhancing student success, belonging, and graduate outcomes at scale. This full-time, fixed-term position runs until 31 December 2028 and is based at the St Lucia campus in Brisbane. The role is closely aligned with UQ’s flagship Bachelor of Arts program and works at the intersection of curriculum, employability, and student engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Design and deliver faculty-wide initiatives that enhance student belonging, progression, and employability within the Bachelor of Arts, particularly in first year. – Build and maintain strong partnerships with alumni, industry, academic staff, and professional teams to embed career development and future pathways into the student experience. – Lead the planning and delivery of staff and industry events. – Coordinate and support casual staff, volunteers, and student contributors involved in initiatives and events. – Contribute to evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen student success outcomes across the program. REQUIREMENTS – Completion of a Bachelor degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise in career development learning; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. – Demonstrated experience in designing and coordinating projects related to teaching, learning, or the student experience. – Strong event management skills, including the ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines. – Experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including academic staff, alumni, and/or industry partners. – Ability to analyse data, write succinct reports, and accurately integrate information from a variety of sources.
