OVERVIEW The School Operations Officer role at The University of Western Australia supports the effective day-to-day functioning of a University School through high-quality administrative and operational services. Based at the Crawley campus in Perth, this part-time (0.8 FTE) ongoing position sits within College Services and contributes directly to student success, research activity, and the University’s strategic objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the day-to-day operations of a University School by providing high-quality administrative and operational assistance – Deliver academic support services and general administrative support across a range of programs and activities – Work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to ensure seamless service delivery – Provide support for higher degree by research (HDR) activities – Assist with the coordination and support of committees – Contribute to engagement activities and events – Undertake general office coordination duties – Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, workflows, and service outcomes REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support within a complex or fast-paced environment – Experience ideally gained within higher education or a similar setting – Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines – Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice – Ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders – Proven capacity to use initiative and exercise sound judgement – Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team – Strong customer service focus and a commitment to delivering high-quality, responsive support WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Effective school operations are essential to the success of students, researchers, and academic staff in a university environment.
