OVERVIEW TAFE Gippsland is seeking a Specialist Advisor Target Qualifications – Learner Engagement for a full-time ongoing role based across the Traralgon and Sale campuses in Victoria, Australia. The position focuses on designing, coordinating, and delivering social and emotional engagement activities for learners enrolled in Target Qualifications programs. The role supports learners experiencing intersectional disadvantage through early intervention, case coordination, and collaborative support services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Design, coordinate, and deliver social and emotional engagement activities for learners enrolled in Target Qualifications. – Support learners experiencing intersectional disadvantage, including participants in the Student Success Program (SSP). – Lead proactive and embedded learner engagement through early intervention and case coordination. – Work collaboratively with education delivery teams, Student Support Services, and external agencies. – Address barriers impacting learner engagement, progression, and retention. – Partner closely with the Specialist Advisor – Target Qualifications Teaching and Learning. – Collaborate with pathways and community engagement teams, including place-based outreach teams. – Ensure alignment between pre-enrolment engagement and in-program support. – Maintain a clear distinction between outreach and recruitment activities and in-course learner support. – Coordinate wraparound supports and manage referrals across multiple services. – Engage sensitively and effectively with diverse learner cohorts. – Collect, analyse, and communicate wellbeing-related data to support learner outcomes, service improvement, and organisational accountability. REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, or a related discipline. – Minimum five years of experience working in youth services, education, or community-based support roles. – Demonstrated experience supporting learners experiencing complex or intersectional disadvantage. – Strong understanding of social and emotional wellbeing, trauma-informed practice, and early intervention frameworks. – Experience coordinating wraparound supports and managing referrals across multiple services. – Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Commitment to equity, inclusion, and learner-centred practice. – Capability to collect, analyse, and communicate wellbeing-related data. – Experience working collaboratively with community-based service providers within the Gippsland region is highly desirable. – Current Driver Licence. – Valid Working with Children Clearance (WWC). – Current satisfactory National Police Check. – Ability to travel between campuses as required.
