OVERVIEW Kaplan is recruiting College Services Advisors for both a permanent full-time role and a part-time 6-month contract position based across the City and Callaghan campuses in Newcastle, Australia. This student-facing role supports learners throughout their academic journey, from enrolment and orientation through to graduation and transition pathways. The position combines student services, administration, wellbeing support, events coordination, and front-of-house responsibilities in a collaborative education environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Deliver exceptional customer service and provide timely advice and support to students throughout their study journey. – Coordinate student activities, orientation programs and events that encourage engagement, connection and belonging. – Monitor student wellbeing, attendance and academic progress, and refer students to appropriate support services when required. – Assist with enrolments, course changes, timetabling and student administration while maintaining accurate student records. – Provide pastoral care and practical support, including accommodation assistance, under-18 student requirements and transition pathways. – Liaise with internal teams, university partners and external stakeholders to support a seamless student experience. – Respond to enquiries through reception, email and phone while maintaining a welcoming and professional front-of-house service. – Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, collaborative and compliant workplace culture. REQUIREMENTS – Previous experience in student services, customer service, administration or a similar client-focused role. – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. – Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. – A caring, empathetic and solutions-focused approach to student support. – Understanding of the Australian education sector. – Experience in international education is highly regarded. – Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn systems such as Canvas and Kaplink. – Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. – Current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one before commencement.
