OVERVIEW The Casual Boarding Supervisor role at Newington College’s Eungai Creek campus offers a short-term but meaningful opportunity to support secondary students within a residential immersion program. Based in a tranquil setting on the Mid North Coast of NSW, the role focuses on student wellbeing, daily routines, and fostering a safe, supportive boarding community. This is a casual appointment for a defined program period during August 2026 or as required, with potential future opportunities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support students in a structured boarding and residential environment – Contribute to student wellbeing and pastoral care – Assist with students’ daily routines within the boarding program – Help foster a safe, supportive, and connected boarding community – Manage group dynamics and respond calmly to situations as they arise – Work independently and collaboratively as part of the boarding team – Contribute to continuous improvement of child safeguarding at the College REQUIREMENTS – Experience working with young people in a residential, education, or outdoor setting – Strong pastoral care capability, including empathy and patience – Ability to manage group dynamics and respond calmly to situations – Strong interpersonal and communication skills – Ability to work both independently and collaboratively – Good organisational skills and adaptability – Understanding of the needs of boarding students – Availability for the full program period (dates confirmed during interview process) – Light Rigid (LR) licence is advantageous – Current Working with Children registration number – Successful completion of employment screening processes with the Office of the Children’s Guardian WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Boarding supervisors play a critical role in shaping students’ residential and personal development experiences, particularly during immersive programs away from home.
