This position requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service while confidently engaging with students and navigating admissions processes and requirements. About the Position As a Future Student Advisor, you’ll play a key role in helping people take the next step in their education journey. This is a highly proactive, student-focused role where you’ll mainly connect with prospective and current students through phone calls, email, SMS, and scheduled appointments. Given CDU’s large and geographically diverse student cohort across Australia, the primary method of engagement is outbound phone calls. This makes the role well suited to someone who is confident, proactive, and enjoys speaking with people throughout the day, while maintaining a high level of engagement and consistency. The focus of the role is building genuine connections, understanding each customer’s goals and guiding them confidently through the application and enrolment process. You will be reaching out to students at different stages of their journey, from initial enquiry through to their final semester of study, supporting them with clear, personalised advice throughout. Many of the students you engage with may need extra encouragement or guidance, so the ability to listen, build rapport, and follow through is crucial for ensuring success in the role. While supporting students across all life stages, the role places a priority focus on providing specialised, proactive outreach and advice to identified cohorts. These include First Nations students, students from low socio-economic backgrounds, and students from regional and remote areas. As a key member of the Future Students and Admissions team, the Future Student Advisor will also support the domestic admissions function, assisting with application assessments and providing high-quality responses to student enquiries. This role provides a strong foundation for anyone looking to build or develop a career in customer engagement, admissions, or the higher education sector. It offers variety, from engaging with prospective students to supporting those returning to study and is well suited to someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, and achieving results as part of a team. You’ll work in a collaborative environment where proactive outreach and strong customer support are valued, and where your contribution has a direct impact on student outcomes. About You To be successful, you will require: Written communication skills, with the ability to respond to enquiries in writing and liaise with other teams across the University on sometimes complex cases. High level verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex processes or regulations, to provide clear information to customers and to communicate effectively and constructively with staff. Experience working in a team of customer service or sales staff (in the vocational or higher education sector preferred),
