OVERVIEW The Professional Placement Consultant (Graduate & Industry Engagement) at the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) supports students in becoming career-ready through professional placement preparation, mentoring, and industry engagement. Based in Sydney NSW, the role is part of the Employability team and contributes to ICMS’s mission of preparing students for professional success. The position also involves developing and maintaining relationships with industry partners across ICMS and its associated provider brands. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Prepare, monitor, and mentor students in relation to their professional placement – Support students to develop and enhance their graduate employability skills – Build and manage a portfolio of industry relationships – Provide ongoing support and guidance to industry placement providers – Work collaboratively across the organisation to implement key initiatives and projects – Plan, organise, and achieve work targets in demanding circumstances – Balance competing priorities while meeting timelines and key deliverables – Maintain strong external and internal stakeholder relationships – Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives – Engage with work-integrated learning activities relevant to the required industries REQUIREMENTS – Degree qualification in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience – Demonstrated business development skills – Ability to build, maintain, and develop strong external and internal relationships – Understanding of recruitment and placement processes – Interest in supporting students to improve graduate employability skills – Understanding of work-integrated learning and its relevance to industry – Demonstrated cross-cultural skills and awareness of different approaches required – Superior computing skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Ability to plan, organise, and achieve work targets under demanding circumstances – Ability to work harmoniously and constructively with colleagues – Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, written, and oral communication skills – Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement – Ability to work collaboratively across an organisation – Ability to work to timelines and manage competing priorities – Previous experience in the areas of study offered by the College (desirable) – Understanding of the Australian higher education and VET sectors (desirable) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role plays an important part in connecting education with industry by helping students gain practical professional experience before graduation.
