OVERVIEW The Work Integrated Learning Support Officer (also known internally as the Student Placement Officer) plays a central role in supporting student placements and industry engagement within Flinders University. Based at Bedford Park in Adelaide, this full-time, fixed-term position supports the College’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs through coordination, administration, and stakeholder engagement. The role focuses on ensuring students are appropriately matched to placements and meet all requirements to achieve positive graduate outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide administrative and operational support for the College’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs. – Work closely with the WIL Team Leader to leverage internal and external placement opportunities. – Liaise with placement providers and undertake placement-related administration, including preparation of contracts. – Match students to placements and ensure students meet pre-placement and WIL experience requirements. – Process, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of student placement data. – Support academic placement coordinators with placement administration and data. – Maintain data records in relevant systems and prepare reports and correspondence as requested. – Provide timely advice to students and stakeholders to support WIL supervision. – Exercise sound judgement when managing sensitive or urgent issues related to student placements. – Assist with organising and sharing WIL information through online and in-person methods for students, industry partners, and academics. REQUIREMENTS – Relevant administrative experience and/or education and training. – Demonstrated experience maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. – Ability to effectively use systems and databases, including extracting, manipulating, and analysing data. – Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and apply sound judgement in problem-solving and decision-making. – Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet urgent deadlines. – Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
