OVERVIEW The Education Counsellor role at IDP Education in Sydney focuses on guiding international students through their study abroad journey, from initial enquiry to successful enrolment. Working within a global leader in international education services, this position combines student advising, sales pipeline management, and collaboration with education partners. The role requires balancing personalised counselling with achievement of sales and service targets in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Manage and achieve pipeline and sales targets by guiding prospective international students through all stages of the education journey, including lead management and application submission. – Promote relevant student products and services as part of a comprehensive counselling approach. – Deliver high-quality customer service by building rapport with students, families, and education partners, and by providing accurate information on study programs, admission requirements, and visa procedures. – Participate in marketing and engagement events to generate leads and increase brand visibility. – Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system to support effective pipeline management. – Collaborate with internal teams and external education providers to streamline application processes and resolve enquiries efficiently. – Identify and pursue opportunities for referrals and repeat business to support sustained growth and customer advocacy. REQUIREMENTS – Experience in a customer-focused sales or service environment, with demonstrated achievement of individual and team targets in a competitive setting. – Understanding of the education sector, particularly student placement into Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and universities. – Knowledge of relevant immigration regulations and application procedures. – Tertiary qualifications relevant to education counselling, student services, or a related field, supported by professional experience in education counselling or similar roles. – Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English. – Additional language proficiency, especially Vietnamese, which is highly desirable. – Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
