OVERVIEW The Student Support Officer role at the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) is a full-time, fixed-term position based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, with hybrid working arrangements. This 12-month contract provides parental leave cover and focuses on delivering high-quality support to students throughout their academic journey. The role sits at the centre of student services, combining administrative expertise with a strong student-first approach. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Respond to student inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, providing guidance and solutions – Assist students with administrative tasks including registration, course enrolment, and record maintenance – Act as a liaison between students and faculty to facilitate effective communication and resolve issues – Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality – Provide students with information and resources related to academic policies, procedures, and support services – Collaborate with other departments and staff members to support seamless student support operations – Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the student experience REQUIREMENTS – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues – Excellent customer service skills – Proven ability to multitask, prioritise competing demands, and solve problems efficiently – High attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative skills – Proficiency in student information systems, databases, and related software applications – Experience in customer service or student support, ideally within an educational or academic environment – At least a Diploma qualification in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience – Ability to pass a police check WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Support Officers play a critical role in shaping the student experience, particularly in education providers with flexible and accessible learning models.
