OVERVIEW Curtin University is seeking a Student Conduct Officer to support the fair and consistent management of student misconduct matters at its Bentley campus in Perth, Western Australia. This full-time fixed-term role runs until 31 December 2026 and focuses on case coordination, policy guidance, communication with students and staff, and support for disciplinary review processes. The position sits within the Office of the Academic Registrar and contributes to maintaining a respectful, accountable, and policy-compliant university environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Act as the first point of contact for student misconduct matters. – Provide clear, accurate, and timely advice and guidance to staff and students in line with the University’s Misconduct Rules. – Liaise regularly with students and staff to provide feedback, address queries, and resolve issues arising throughout the misconduct process. – Coordinate the end-to-end management of student misconduct cases, including referrals, communication, and collaboration with Schools and the Student Conduct Team. – Ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with university policy during misconduct case management. – Manage student requests for review and appeal. – Support assessors, panels, and committees in the consideration and hearing of cases. – Prepare high-quality correspondence and documentation related to conduct matters. – Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. REQUIREMENTS – Excellent written communication skills. – Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. – Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels. – Exceptional organisational and time management skills. – Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. – High attention to detail. – Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a collegial and values-driven team culture. – Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment. – Experience working within a tertiary education or government environment (desirable). – Experience using large, custom-built record management systems or similar databases (desirable). – Current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of the fixed-term contract. – Successful completion of National Police Clearance and background, integrity, and reference checks.
