OVERVIEW The Student and Academic Services Officer role at Edith Cowan College (ECC) is a student-facing administrative position within a tertiary pathway education provider in Australia. Based at ECU Joondalup Campus in Perth, the role supports students across their academic lifecycle while contributing to the effective operation of academic and student services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide frontline student support at reception, responding to enquiries via phone, email, and in person. – Coordinate enrolment and re-enrolment processes, including variations, deferrals, withdrawals, and Confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs). – Support student progression and completion processes, including results processing, appeals, awards, and graduation coordination. – Assist with academic operations, including timetabling, examinations, moderation, and support to academic and student committees. – Maintain accurate student records and support regulatory reporting requirements. – Support orientation, graduation, and student experience activities to enhance student engagement and transition to university. – Assist with data management, quality assurance, and survey administration. – Contribute to the development of strong relationships with academic staff, students, and key stakeholders. – Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of student and academic services. REQUIREMENTS – Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and balance competing priorities. – Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading and data accuracy skills. – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively to students and colleagues. – Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve routine issues independently. – Demonstrated IT literacy, including experience working with student information systems, databases, or CRM systems. – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. – A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to supporting student success. – A tertiary qualification (degree or equivalent). – Previous experience in the higher education sector, ideally in a student services or academic administration role.
