OVERVIEW The Employability Programs Coordinator plays a central role in delivering and enhancing institution-wide employability initiatives at Swinburne University of Technology. Reporting to the Manager, Career Development, this position oversees flagship programs such as the Swinburne Employability Award and supports students’ career development through structured programs and partnerships. The role is part-time (0.8 FTE) and based at the Hawthorn campus in Melbourne. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Oversee key employability programs across the University, including the Swinburne Employability Award – Manage student communications related to employability programs – Design and deliver employability and career development workshops – Monitor and evaluate employability programs – Report on program outcomes and impacts – Collaborate with other university departments, Schools, and business units – Build and maintain effective relationships with students, academic staff, and professional staff – Deliver current and effective career development and employability support through programs and partnerships REQUIREMENTS – Proven experience managing institution-wide programs, ideally employability programs – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to unexpected situations – Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders – Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of career development theories and frameworks – Experience developing and managing relationships with schools and academic partners to deliver career development learning within curriculum programs – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment – Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and enthusiasm for new opportunities and challenges – Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, healthy, and safe environment and support a diverse range of students and clients – A qualification in a relevant discipline such as Career Development, Human Resource Management, or Psychology, supported by relevant industry experience – Eligibility for membership of a CICA recognised career professional association – Ability to work with broad direction, exercising sound judgment and initiative – Successful completion of a Working with Children Check WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS University employability programs are a critical bridge between academic study and graduate outcomes, particularly in a rapidly changing labour market.
