OVERVIEW The Campus Minister role at St Augustine’s College, within Brisbane Catholic Education, focuses on providing vibrant faith, spiritual, and pastoral support to students while enriching the religious life of the whole school community. Based in Augustine Heights, Brisbane, this term-time continuing position supports a P–12 Catholic learning environment grounded in the Augustinian tradition. The role combines liturgical leadership, formation programs, and community engagement within one of Queensland’s largest Catholic education systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Participating in the planning of religious festivals and celebrations throughout the school year, highlighting the diversity of religious traditions and encouraging active student participation – Assisting in professional learning, engagement, and strategic support to build school capacity to deliver spiritual and theological development practices for staff, students, and community members – Collaborating in developing, promoting, facilitating, and evaluating formation programs, professional learning, and resources that support the school’s Catholic Identity Strategy – Participating in the design, development, and facilitation of prayer, reflection, and liturgical experiences – Facilitating programs that support the faith, spiritual, and pastoral development of students – Engaging and promoting the role of Campus Minister within the school and facilitating opportunities for involvement through initiatives, events, and ceremonies REQUIREMENTS – Relevant contemporary skills and experience in planning and coordinating religious festivals and celebrations with attention to detail and inclusivity of diverse traditions – Experience providing professional learning and strategic support to enhance spiritual and theological practices within a school setting – Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating formation programs and resources aligned with a school’s Catholic Identity Strategy – Ability to promote and facilitate the role of Campus Minister and foster active involvement through events, initiatives, and ceremonies – Skills in designing and facilitating faith-based programs – Hold or be willing to successfully complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (Campus Ministry) or equivalent as recognised by Brisbane Catholic Education – Be Catholic – Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment – Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Campus Ministers play a central role in shaping the spiritual and pastoral life of a Catholic school, supporting students’ faith formation alongside their academic journey.
