OVERVIEW Byron Community College is seeking a Vocational Education Administrator (RTO) to support nationally recognised training programs and community education initiatives in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. This role focuses on student administration, compliance, records management, and customer service within a purpose-driven education environment. The position suits a highly organised professional with experience in Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and a strong understanding of vocational education administration. The college has delivered vocational training and community education for more than 30 years and is committed to inclusive, accessible learning that supports employment, wellbeing, and lifelong learning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate student enrolments and admissions – Maintain accurate student records within aXcelerate – Prepare course documentation and training resources – Support trainers with administration and compliance requirements – Assist with Smart & Skilled and ACE funded training administration – Maintain AVETMISS-compliant student data – Issue qualifications and Statements of Attainment – Respond to student enquiries via phone, email and in person – Maintain electronic filing systems and quality records – Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives REQUIREMENTS – Previous administration experience working within an RTO – Experience using Student Management Systems – Experience using aXcelerate is desirable – Understanding of AVETMISS reporting – Exceptional organisational and time management skills – High attention to detail – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Strong customer service skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Ability to manage multiple priorities – Knowledge of Smart & Skilled and ACE funding streams is highly desirable – Knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 is highly desirable WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Vocational education administrators play an important role in ensuring students receive accurate, compliant, and well-supported training experiences.
