OVERVIEW Anglicare WA is seeking a part-time Student Wellbeing Officer based at Tom Price Primary School in Western Australia. This max-term position runs until 29 January 2027 and involves working two days per week during school terms. The role focuses on supporting children and young people through school-based wellbeing activities, family outreach, and connections to community services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Engage with students through a wide range of school-based activities – Provide support for students to connect with professional staff within the school – Conduct outreach to disengaged students and their families – Support young people to access and connect with community-based services – Facilitate school wellbeing workshops or programs – Work within a fast-paced and dynamic school environment – Facilitate small groups – Support children and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds and abilities, including Aboriginal and CaLD young people and those who identify as LGBTQIA+ REQUIREMENTS – Cert IV in Youth Work or another relevant Cert IV qualification – Relevant tertiary qualification that permits registration as a counsellor, teacher, social worker, psychologist, nurse, or midwife – Knowledge of trauma-informed practice – Knowledge of de-escalation techniques – Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic school environment – Contemporary knowledge of issues impacting children and young people – Ability to accept, respect, and work with children and young people from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities – Understanding of the education system – Ability to facilitate small groups – Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check from the Department of Education no older than 12 months – Ability to obtain an international police clearance if required – DoE Clearance – Working With Children Check (WWCC) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student wellbeing roles are essential in helping young people feel supported, connected, and safe within school communities.
