OVERVIEW Newington College is seeking a Casual Boarding Supervisor to support its Eungai Creek campus for a defined residential program period in August 2026 or as required. This role sits within a residential immersion program for Year 9 students and focuses on student wellbeing, daily routines, and community life in a boarding setting. The position is casual, tied to specific program dates, with potential for future engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support students within a structured residential boarding environment – Contribute to student wellbeing, pastoral care, and daily routines – Help foster a safe, supportive, and connected boarding community – Manage group dynamics and respond calmly to situations involving young people – Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of the boarding and campus team – Support the College’s commitment to child safety and safeguarding practices – Contribute to the continuous improvement of child safeguarding at the College REQUIREMENTS – Experience working with young people in a residential, education, or outdoor setting – Strong pastoral care capability, including empathy and patience – Ability to manage group dynamics effectively – Strong interpersonal and communication skills – Ability to work independently and collaboratively – Good organisational skills and adaptability – Understanding of the needs of boarding students – Availability for the full program period (dates confirmed during interview process) – Light Rigid (LR) driver licence is advantageous – Willingness to undergo employment screening with the Office of the Children’s Guardian – Current Working with Children registration number WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Boarding supervisors play a critical role in shaping students’ residential and personal development experiences, particularly during immersive programs away from home.
