OVERVIEW The Inclusion Support Advisor role at Southern Cross University sits within the Study Well team and focuses on enabling equitable access to learning for students with disability, long-term illness, or mental health conditions. Based at one of the university’s regional campuses, this position combines direct student support with collaborative work across the institution to embed inclusive practices. The role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student success while working in a values-driven, community-oriented university environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Assess student learning needs and develop tailored learning access plans and reasonable adjustments – Provide expert advice on disability inclusion, assistive technology, and inclusive education practices – Partner with academic and professional staff to facilitate equitable access to learning and student success – Work collaboratively with students to support their participation and progression in higher education – Champion inclusive practices across the University REQUIREMENTS – A bachelor’s degree or higher in allied health, special education, social welfare, mental health, occupational therapy, or a related field – Proven experience in disability services – Familiarity with the challenges and barriers faced by students with disability in accessing and succeeding in higher education – Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and guidelines related to disability services and inclusion in education – Strong problem-solving and judgement skills – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Inclusion Support Advisors play a critical role in ensuring that higher education is accessible and equitable for all students, regardless of disability or health conditions.
