OVERVIEW The Community Manager role at UniLodge Australia is a student-facing leadership position focused on enhancing residential wellbeing within a purpose-built student accommodation setting in Parkville, Melbourne. This role combines pastoral care, community development, and operational leadership to support students’ academic, social, and personal success. It is well suited to professionals with experience in wellbeing, events, and team leadership who are passionate about supporting diverse student communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Promote and advocate for residential wellbeing with an emphasis on pastoral care and academic matters – Develop and organise a comprehensive calendar of educational, cultural, and social events for residents – Provide leadership and support in the management and development of the Residential Life and Wellbeing Program at the property – Deliver exceptional service to residents, staff, university departments, visitors, suppliers, contractors, and associated organisations – Establish and maintain constructive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders – Recruit, train, develop, and manage the Residential Advisor team REQUIREMENTS – Previous experience in a similar role, including wellbeing and mental health literacy – Tertiary education in Psychology or Education (highly desirable) – Experience in event planning, event implementation, and budget management – Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams – Strong interpersonal skills, with effective written and verbal communication abilities – High-level competency in software packages including MS Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Confidence in managing and resolving conflict in a diverse environment – National Police Check completed within the last three months (at the candidate’s own cost) – Unrestricted work rights in Australia – Current Working with Children’s Check (Victoria) – Flexible availability to accommodate after-hours work and on-call duties as required WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Community Managers play a critical role in shaping the lived experience of students in residential settings, particularly for those transitioning into higher education or living away from home.
