OVERVIEW The Student Counsellor (Adelaide) Philippines role at Asia Pacific Group focuses on supporting international students in achieving their study goals in Australia. Based in Adelaide, this position combines student counselling, application processing, and relationship management within a growing education and migration consultancy. It offers exposure to the Australian education sector and opportunities for career progression within Australia. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Proactively seek potential clients via social media – Build and manage a pipeline of qualified clients – Counsel students by asking important questions, proactively listening to their needs, and guiding them toward suitable study options – Process applications for international students across ELICOS, VET, College, and University sectors, including course-related requests such as extensions, deferrals, and cancellations – Maintain accurate and comprehensive student application records and documents within the CRM system – Communicate with partner institutions to inquire about or follow up on student applications – Attend professional training sessions and industry events organized by institutions or the company – Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on application progress to management – Liaise with colleagues to help promote the company brand to international students – Assist in brand localization initiatives for Philippines audiences REQUIREMENTS – Personality and ability to foster, build, and manage professional relationships – Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills – Adequate knowledge of the local or domestic area – Ability to work under pressure and meet or exceed monthly targets – Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team – Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Willingness to take on ad-hoc duties with an open and flexible mindset – Understanding of the Australian student visa system – Understanding of admission processes for English schools, VET colleges, and universities in Australia – Minimum of 1 year of experience in student counselling or education consultancy – At least 1 year of experience in a migration and education agency – Prior education consultant experience of 1–2 years in Australia – Strong knowledge of Australian education policies and visa requirements – Proficiency in multilingual languages, including Filipino dialects WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student counsellors play a critical role in helping international students make informed decisions about their education pathways while ensuring compliance with institutional and visa requirements.
