OVERVIEW This role sits within the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation at The University of Queensland and focuses on supporting professional learning, teaching recognition, and accredited programs across the university. As a Professional Learning and Teaching Recognition Admin Officer, you contribute to institution-wide teaching excellence by providing high-quality administrative and customer-focused support. The position is full-time and permanent, based at UQ’s St Lucia campus in Brisbane, Australia. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Supporting University-wide professional learning, teaching recognition and teaching excellence initiatives that positively impact staff – Administering flagship programs including HEA@UQ, the Graduate Certificate of University Teaching Practice, teaching awards and innovation grants – Providing high-quality advice and administrative support to academic and professional stakeholders within a collaborative ITaLI team – Delivering a varied, people-focused role combining event coordination, academic administration, data accuracy and continuous improvement REQUIREMENTS – A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in administration within a dynamic or fast-paced environment – Strong ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy – Confident written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders – A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently and collaboratively – A strong customer service mindset, with empathy and professionalism when supporting students and staff – Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Professional learning and teaching recognition roles play a critical part in sustaining and improving teaching quality in higher education.
