OVERVIEW The Skills and Jobs Centre at William Angliss Institute is seeking a Career Counsellor to deliver coordinated career development support to a diverse client group in Melbourne. This full-time, fixed-term role focuses on individual counselling, group delivery, and collaborative program development within a leading Australian specialist education provider. The position is suited to professionals committed to inclusive, client-centred career education and strong stakeholder engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide coordinated, individual career counselling and support services to clients – Deliver face-to-face presentations, workshops, and webinars as required – Deliver projects, resources, and programs in collaboration with internal and external community partners – Provide training and development to team members – Actively promote and advocate careers advisory services and events – Maintain and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders REQUIREMENTS – Graduate Certificate or higher qualification in Career Education and Development with significant relevant experience; or Certificate IV in Career Education and Development with significant relevant experience and willingness to obtain additional qualifications – Client and case management expertise, particularly working with individuals from diverse backgrounds – Demonstrated ability to address individuals’ career aspirations and needs – Proven initiative in developing, promoting, and delivering engaging and appropriate careers advisory activities and services – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships for beneficial outcomes – Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data capture and report preparation – Demonstrated behaviours aligned with the William Angliss Institute values – Ability to meet child safety and employment screening requirements, including Working with Children Check and National Police Check WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Career counsellors play a critical role in supporting individuals to navigate education and employment pathways, particularly within vocational and specialist education environments.
