OVERVIEW The Enrolment and Course Advisor role at Flinders University is a student-facing professional position focused on delivering accurate, holistic enrolment and course planning advice. Based at Bedford Park in Adelaide, this continuing full-time role sits within Student Administration Services and supports students across their academic lifecycle. The position requires strong policy knowledge, sound judgement, and a commitment to service excellence in a complex higher education environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Develop and deliver comprehensive, timely, and high-quality enrolment and course advice services to students – Provide holistic support including study plan advice and management, credit approval and processing, and exchange or study abroad support – Answer complex student enquiries and provide specialised assistance and guidance – Manage the approval and updating of study plans within the Student Information System – Act as a key contact point for staff and students regarding interpretation of enrolment policies and operational procedures – Serve as a subject matter expert in enrolments and course planning, offering impartial advice to College Executive staff, academics, external stakeholders, and committees – Assess student progress against course requirements and determine or recommend course completions REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated experience and well-developed knowledge of processes related to course offerings or complex course planning advice within an education environment or equivalent – Proven ability to make decisions, apply judgement, and use problem-solving skills when managing sensitive and complex matters – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for a student-facing advisory role – Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data while working with complex database systems – Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders through collaborative interaction and negotiation – Capacity to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail, as well as collaboratively within a team in a high-volume operational environment – Previous experience interpreting and advising on statutes, course rules, administrative policies, and procedures – Experience providing risk assessments and recommendations relating to course requirements and compliance WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Effective enrolment and course advice directly impacts student progression, retention, and completion outcomes.
