OVERVIEW The Coordinator – Work Integrated Learning (Placement and Systems) is a continuing, full-time role within CQUniversity’s Office of Education, Strategy and Quality. Based in regional Queensland, this position plays a central role in connecting students with meaningful industry-based learning experiences that support their transition into professional practice. The role combines people leadership, systems development, and external engagement to strengthen the quality and reach of work integrated learning across the university. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead and supervise a dedicated team responsible for sourcing, coordinating, and managing student placements. – Ensure placements align with academic requirements and intended career outcomes. – Drive the development and continuous improvement of efficient systems and processes supporting work integrated learning. – Oversee placement tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements. – Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, government, and community stakeholders. – Collaborate effectively with internal university teams and external partners to support high-quality placement outcomes. – Influence and engage diverse stakeholders to support innovative approaches to work integrated learning. REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated experience leading and supervising teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and collaborating effectively across diverse groups. – Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to liaise, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. – Proven proficiency in business support software, including word processing, spreadsheets, information management systems, and email, within large corporate environments. – A degree with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience and demonstrated management expertise, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training. – Sound understanding of work placement requirements within higher education, with experience building relationships with external industry partners and sourcing placement opportunities (desirable).
