Be challenged and imagine with us As the Student Services Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and well-organised environment for students, staff, and visitors at our Taree Campus. As the first point of contact for the Department of Rural Health, you’ll be the friendly face of our front-of-house operations while providing practical support across student services, accommodation, events, and day-to-day campus activities. This is a hands-on role that combines customer service, administration, and facilities coordination, with a strong focus on supporting students undertaking rural placements. You’ll be responsible for: Being the welcoming first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. Supporting student placements and accommodation, including enquiries, records management, maintenance coordination, and contractor liaison. Helping deliver a positive student experience by ensuring facilities and learning spaces are safe, welcoming, and ready for use. Providing administrative support, including bookings, travel, purchasing, meetings, and events. This full-time, contingent position at a HEW 4 Higher Education Level located at Taree Campus (possible travel to other rural campus locations) How will you inspire us? To be successful in this role, you will bring: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach. Demonstrated experience in administration, reception, customer service, or a similar front-facing role. The ability to work independently, show initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a busy environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing bookings, accommodation records, emails, and events. Experience coordinating accommodation, facilities, property, or tenancy-related activities would be highly regarded. A background in property management, real estate, community housing, student accommodation, or a related field would be advantageous. A genuine commitment to supporting students and contributing to a positive experience for those undertaking rural placements.
