OVERVIEW The Admissions and Student Support Officer role at Barton Business School supports the end-to-end admissions process and ongoing student administration within a regulated Australian higher education environment. Based on campus in Collingwood, Melbourne, this full-time position focuses on accuracy, compliance, and student-centred service across accredited higher education courses. The role contributes directly to regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and a high-quality student experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Process student applications in line with institutional entry requirements and regulatory frameworks, including the ESOS Act and National Code – Issue, update, and manage Offer Letters and Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) in compliance with regulatory requirements – Maintain accurate student data across PRISMS and internal systems to ensure audit readiness – Assess Genuine Student (GS) documentation in line with Department of Home Affairs expectations – Provide student support across the admissions lifecycle, including responding to enquiries and guiding applicants – Liaise with education agents, students, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and compliant communication – Assist with reporting requirements for compliance, audits, and internal review – Support onboarding processes, including student documentation checks and enrolment verification – Identify and escalate compliance risks, inconsistencies, or data issues – Contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions and student support processes REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, with a minimum three-year tertiary qualification – At least two years’ experience in admissions, student services, or compliance within an education setting – Strong working knowledge of PRISMS, the ESOS Act, the National Code, and student visa processes – High attention to detail and the ability to manage data accurately in a compliance-driven environment – Strong communication skills with a student-centred approach – Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment – Experience working with international students and education agents (highly regarded) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Admissions and compliance functions are critical to maintaining an institution’s registration, reputation, and ability to enrol international students.
