About the Team Future Learner Commencement is responsible for delivering the learner on-boarding experience, providing transition support, and ensuring it embeds the lifetime learner relationship. About the Role The Support Services Assistant role is part of the International Student Centre and is responsible for assisting with the provision of an efficient and responsive service to prospective and enrolled international students and other clients at UTS, either face-to-face, by email or telephone. Services include promoting UTS courses to prospective students; advising applicants on the progress of their application for admission; and the production of standardised correspondence for international students which is necessary for visa processing and student verification. The incumbent is required to be conversant with Government and University policies as they apply to international students and to assist in the communication of this information to students and staff. Roles within the International Student Centre will rotate based on demand and rostered by the International Client Services Officer. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: Producing visa-related correspondence, reporting visa non-compliance, updating databases, data entry of Reduced Study Load application outcomes, and managing student documents. Assisting with organizing events for current and prospective international students as needed. Providing accurate information on student status, visa compliance, and university policies to international students via various communication channels. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of government policies (ESOS Act, OSHC) and assisting students transitioning to Australian Permanent Residency. With examples, please outline in a separate document, how you meet the following key selection criteria: Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service in a busy environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, with an understanding of international student requirements including the ESOS Act, Department of Home Affairs (DHA) regulations, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and related University policies. Experience in providing accurate administrative support, including data entry, records management, and use of databases and Microsoft Office applications, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, including managing competing priorities, maintaining flexibility during peak periods, and contributing to continuous improvement. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $78,352 – $83,807 pa (HEW 4) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
