OVERVIEW The Head of Special Cohorts Administration is a senior professional role within the Student Experience team at Alphacrucis University College, based in Parramatta, Sydney. Reporting to the Director of Student Experience, the position provides leadership and operational oversight for administration and support services delivered to a range of designated student cohorts. These include international students, Korean language students, equity students supported through needs-based funding, and selected overseas cohorts. This permanent, full-time role focuses on ensuring a high-quality, compliant, and student-centred experience from application through to graduation. It is suited to an experienced higher education administrator who combines people leadership with strong operational and stakeholder engagement skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the Korean Students Team and the International Student Office to ensure efficient and student-centred operations – Oversee the student journey from application to graduation for designated special cohorts – Support equity students through admissions, enrolment, and access to academic support services – Manage needs-based funding processes, reporting requirements, and initiatives to improve student success outcomes – Coordinate study skills and computer skills workshops for students requiring additional academic or technical support – Supervise, mentor, and develop staff within the special cohorts administration teams – Ensure accurate student administration, effective record management, and high-quality customer service – Work collaboratively with Future Students and recruitment teams to improve offer conversion and student engagement – Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and reporting requirements – Contribute to policy improvement, cross-functional working groups, and institution-wide student experience initiatives REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor qualification or higher – Minimum of three years’ experience within the higher education sector – Demonstrated experience supporting international students – Experience leading and supervising staff teams – Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work accurately – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service capabilities – Experience supporting equity student cohorts – Knowledge of the Higher Education and/or VET environment – Understanding of international student compliance and reporting requirements – Fluency in Korean and English WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Special student cohorts often require tailored administrative support, proactive engagement, and careful compliance management to succeed in higher education.
