OVERVIEW Southern Cross University is seeking a Senior Inclusion Support Advisor to join the Study Well team in Australia. This full-time fixed-term role focuses on supporting inclusion, learning support, and student success for students with disability, long-term illness, mental health conditions, or caring responsibilities. The position combines leadership responsibilities with frontline student support and project work linked to the University’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan. The role may be based at the Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, or Lismore campuses. The successful candidate will coordinate and mentor a small team while contributing to inclusive practices and system improvements across the University. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate, mentor, and develop the Inclusion Support team to support quality service delivery and continuous improvement – Manage a personal caseload of students with diverse and complex needs – Oversee adjustments and inclusive learning strategies for students – Lead and contribute to projects arising from the Disability Inclusion Action Plan – Drive change initiatives including new processes, training, and frameworks – Build staff capability through disability awareness training and inclusive practice workshops – Support implementation of inclusive practices across the University – Combine leadership responsibilities with frontline service delivery – Use assessment tools and recommend reasonable adjustments – Lead initiatives that improve systems, processes, services, and student outcomes REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree or higher in occupational therapy, nursing, allied health, mental health, social work, disability studies, speech pathology, or a related field – Strong supervisory and mentoring skills – Ability to upskill and influence staff, including Faculty partners – Proven experience in disability services – Experience with inclusive education practices and accommodations – Experience managing complex caseloads – Experience using assessment tools and recommending reasonable adjustments – Project management experience – Ability to lead initiatives that improve systems, processes, services, and student outcomes – Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or current working rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes directly to creating inclusive learning environments and improving access to higher education for students with diverse needs.
