About the Team The CSJI tracks performance against UTS’ social justice goals through the UTS Social Impact Framework (SIF), a first of its kind for the Australian university sector. It works to channel the resources of UTS to remove barriers to education, empower communities, increase diversity and inclusion, and advocate for social justice. The CSJI develops, updates, and promotes the SIF, supporting UTS to enact transparent and evidence-based decision making in the social justice space. About the Role The Safety Caseworker will be the first point of contact for disclosures and reports about concerning student behaviour, including gender-based violence at UTS. The incumbent will use a trauma-informed lens and evidence-based case-management approaches to collect information, undertake risk assessments and mitigation, and advise staff and students about university support, investigation, and local level resolution processes related to student behaviours of concern. This position will coordinate, monitor, and report on instances of concerning student behaviour and will involve significant liaison with relevant stakeholders. The role sits within the Safe and Respectful Communities (SARC) Team which is a newly established team. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: Delivering trauma-informed, person-centred case management for staff and students involved in gender-based violence and safety-related matters, including intake, risk assessment and safety planning. Responding to crisis and critical incidents, coordinating support with internal and external services and assisting through investigation and resolution processes. Maintaining a responsive intake service and manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely, high-quality support aligned with best practice. Contributing to projects that improve reporting processes, policies and service quality with stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives. Undertaking accurate case administration, reporting and documentation, while collaborating with stakeholders and engaging in supervision and professional development. Capacity to work with this subject matter is essential. Demonstrated experience providing trauma informed services to\with people from diverse backgrounds and needs. Demonstrated experience working in a team, and engaging with a range of stakeholders in a complex organisation. What will you bring to the UTS Safe and Respectful Communities Team Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $107,402 – $118,813 pa (HEW 7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
