OVERVIEW Northern Victoria Institute of TAFE (NVITAFE) is seeking a Disability Transition Officer for a full-time fixed-term role through to 15 February 2028. Based at any campus, this position supports students with disabilities as they transition from secondary school into further education at GOTAFE. The role sits within the Student Success and Retention team and focuses on attraction, enrolment support, and coordinated assistance during students’ first 90 days. NVITAFE operates across 11 campuses in Northern Victoria and additional national training sites supporting the Australian Defence Force. The organisation is focused on delivering high-quality vocational education while building an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide attraction and personalised support services to students with disabilities. – Guide students from secondary school into further education and through their first 90 days at GOTAFE. – Collaborate with schools and care teams to support student transitions. – Facilitate wrap-around support services for students with disabilities. – Ensure smooth enrolment processes for students. – Foster positive relationships through stakeholder engagement and management. – Work autonomously while taking ownership of responsibilities and making independent decisions when necessary. REQUIREMENTS – A relevant degree and relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience and specialist expertise; or a suitable combination of relevant qualifications and experience. – Understanding of the challenges faced by students with disabilities during educational transitions. – Knowledge of relevant policies and legislation related to disability rights and Reasonable Adjustments. – Strong verbal and written communication skills. – Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions. – Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and relationship management. – Current National Police Check issued within three months of commencement. – Current Employee Working with Children Check or evidence of application. – Current driver’s licence where required. – Completion of Child Safe Training.
