OVERVIEW Onpsych is seeking Student Wellbeing Officers to support schools across Western Australia, with urgent need in Armadale, Morawa, Kulin, Port Hedland, and Wickepin. This casual hourly role focuses on delivering wellbeing support services to students and promoting positive mental resilience within educational settings. Working hours may vary, and successful applicants may provide services across multiple schools based on the Western Australian school calendar. The role suits candidates with backgrounds in welfare, education, psychology, counselling, social work, or related areas. Onpsych also notes additional opportunities across australia for registered and provisionally registered psychologists and accredited mental health social workers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Develop and implement tailored wellbeing programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of students – Provide one-on-one counselling and mentoring to students on personal, social, and academic matters – Deliver wellbeing support services that promote overall student wellbeing and mental resilience – Collaborate with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to identify and respond to student needs – Coordinate referrals to external support services when required – Contribute to the continuous improvement of student wellbeing services – Work across multiple schools where needed according to roster requirements REQUIREMENTS – Cert IV Certificate in Mental Health or equivalent as a minimum requirement – Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, education, or a related field are desired – Demonstrated experience in a student support or wellbeing role within an educational setting – Strong communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to build rapport with students – Understanding of student development and related challenges – Commitment to inclusive and equitable practices – Willingness to commute between schools WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student wellbeing services play an important role in supporting safe, inclusive, and positive learning environments.
