About the role The Student Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting students throughout their learning lifecycle — from enrolment to completion. You will be the key point of contact for student enquiries, wellbeing support, academic assistance coordination, and administrative guidance, ensuring students have the tools and support needed to succeed. What you’ll be doing Provide first-line support to students via phone, email, and face-to-face Assist students with enrolment processes, course information, and policies Identify students at risk and coordinate appropriate intervention strategies Support students with language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) referral processes Facilitate access to additional learning and wellbeing resources Maintain accurate student records in accordance with RTO and regulatory requirements Ensure adherence to Standards for RTOs and internal policies Assist with student progression monitoring and reporting Liaise with external support services where required Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What we’re looking for Experience in student services, administration, or support within education or training Understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector Knowledge of RTO compliance obligations and student record management Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality High level of organisation and time management Desirable Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation Familiarity with AVETMISS reporting and student management systems Understanding of LLN support frameworks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively Proven ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively A positive, flexible and customer-focused attitude What we offer Supportive and collaborative team environment Professional development and ongoing training Career growth within a growing RTO As a quality-focused RTO, we are committed to compliance, innovation, and student-centred learning.
