OVERVIEW The Senior Student Adviser role at Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a senior professional position within the Student Life Directorate, based across the Joondalup and City campuses in Perth, Western Australia. This fixed-term, full-time opportunity supports ECU’s commitment to student success, wellbeing, and positive educational experiences through high-quality, person-centred advice and service delivery. The role combines direct student support with leadership, escalation management, and project contributions within the Student Hub. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide a broad range of customer-focused student advice to all ECU students. – Support school operations through effective student advisory services. – Act as an escalation point for Student Advisers handling complex student enquiries. – Apply broad knowledge of student administrative processes, courses, and support services to resolve enquiries. – Support Student Hub Coordinators by leading and completing project work. – Act as a proxy for Coordinators in meetings when required. – Engage collaboratively with colleagues across Schools and Directorates. – Contribute to continuous quality improvement in student services and processes. REQUIREMENTS – Excellent customer service skills with the ability to understand needs, provide support, and build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders. – Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, coordinate activities, support team members, and share knowledge through training and guidance. – Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in managing complex student enquiries. – Knowledge of student administration processes, support services, and systems. – Ability to communicate information clearly to different audiences. – Commitment to continuous improvement and contributing to a positive workplace culture. – Demonstrated alignment with ECU values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage. – Relevant working rights to fill the position in Australia.
