OVERVIEW The International Future Students Enquiry & Conversion Officer role at Southern Cross University focuses on engaging prospective international students and supporting them from initial enquiry through to application and offer acceptance. Based at the Gold Coast or Lismore campus, this full-time, continuing position sits within a sales and customer service environment and plays a key role in international student recruitment. The role combines communication, relationship management, and process-driven enquiry handling within a regional Australian university context. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Engage with potential international students through outbound calls, CRM activity, emails, and follow-ups to understand their needs and convert enquiries into applications and acceptances – Respond to prospective student enquiries efficiently and warmly across multiple channels, including phone, email, live web chat, and social media – Follow established systems, protocols, and procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent information is provided – Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for lead capture, reporting, communication, and maintaining accurate records – Assist with outreach conversion activities and promotional events, such as Open Days, by providing professional support to prospective students REQUIREMENTS – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Proficiency in English – Strong phone presence, cold-calling ability, and customer service skills – A relevant tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma level, and/or progress toward completion of a Bachelor-level degree, and/or previous experience in an outbound call centre or related sales role (preferred) – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Experience using CRM software such as Microsoft Dynamics – Fluency in additional languages such as Mandarin, Hindi, Nepalese, Korean, Vietnamese, Sinhala, Tamil, Portuguese, or Bengali is highly regarded – Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or current working rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International enquiry and conversion roles are central to a university’s ability to connect with students across global markets and support informed study decisions.
