OVERVIEW The Student Advisor role at The University of Western Australia supports students across the full academic lifecycle, from enrolment through to graduation, with a strong focus on academic success, wellbeing, and engagement. Based in Crawley, Perth, this full-time, fixed-term position runs through April 2027 and sits within the Directorate of Student Success and Progression. The role contributes directly to UWA’s goal of delivering a world-class, student-centred experience within a collaborative university environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide high-quality, student-centred advisory and administrative support throughout the student journey – Support students’ academic progression and strengthen their connection to their school or discipline – Deliver accurate advice and resolve complex student enquiries – Maintain effective systems, processes, records, and reports related to student administration – Work collaboratively within the Student Office team and with academic and professional staff – Contribute to continuous improvement of student administration and advisory services REQUIREMENTS – Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience – Substantial administrative experience in a complex, service-focused environment – Highly developed written and verbal communication skills – Ability to provide clear, accurate, and empathetic advice to students and staff – Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines – Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and reports – Capacity to work independently with initiative and as part of a collaborative team – Confidence using a range of computing systems – Strong commitment to exceptional student experience and customer service – Eligibility to work in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Advisors play a critical role in ensuring students can successfully navigate university systems and requirements, particularly in large and complex institutions.
